DeSoto Speedway
A 3/8th mile oval track, 1/3 mile
around with a 10 foot apron and 1/2 mile around outside wall. The
asphalt is 60 feet wide, turns banked at 12 degrees and straights banked
at 6 degrees.
The Late Models and Open Wheel Modifieds reach 90 mph or more on the
straights.
DeSoto Speedway is very family oriented, with a Junior Fan Club, a No
Drinking grandstand section and an excellent selection of concession
foods for the young and not so young. The track, pit and parking lots
are lit with 135,000 watts of halide lighting for safety and
convenience.
Just a 30 minute drive from the beautiful Bradenton Beach and Anna
Maria Island beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, DeSoto Speedway hosts more
than 2000 fans and 110 drivers during the racing season which reaches
from February to November. |
